Again some work from Dieter Straka. This time he shows us a T34/85 and a Sherman M4A3 tank.
Both tanks were the backbone of their country´s armoured troops. The production number of the Sherman variants were all in all 49,234. The T34/76 had reached the number of 34,780 items (unfortunately I didn´t find out the numbers for the T34/85; is there any help from the readers?).
These facts show that the German armoured troops had not the slightest chance to get even with the Allied groundpower. The most produced German tank Mark IV with a comparable main gun (the long barrelled 7,5cm gun L43 respectively L48) reached only at about 7,125 of produced units.
